Thanks for your interest in my job career. presently i don't have a vessel am sailing on for now. with my present situation i can sail on any vessel provided i earn my living i will be ok with that, and i wouldn't mind to work as ordinary sea man.
if you may assist me with your contact to get job i will be very grateful.

Hi Duru,

The world economy seems to be making shipping difficult for now. This is similar to the situation that existed for me after sitting for my third mates license. At that time there were few jobs and most of the offshore jobs were going to more senior union members although it was possible to find some work as AB on local vessel and coastwise tugs.

What kind of jobs are available on local vessels where you live (like tugs or oil service vessels)? Do you have any contacts with people from your last ship that can help you find a job? Let it be known if you are able to join a ship on short notice. You might have a better chance of getting a job. The important thing is to have a longer range plan then be willing to make adjustments as necessary to reach your goal.

All the best,

Jim Wright

Hi Duru,

Thanks for your interest in the program. What type of vessel are you sailing on now? How much more time as AB do you need to sit for a license? Let me know when you have questions and we'll see if we can come up with some answers.

All the best,

Jim Wright
Hi Duru. If I can help with something feel free to ask. The answer may be slow thugh as I am on a ship half the year and have only intermittent internet at work
